Norwegian ski athlete superstars Petter Northug and Jarl Magus Riiber have joined the myOnvent family as investors.

Both found the company through myOnvent board member Bjørn Magne Bryn, who joined myOnvent in 2020.

myOnvent’s CEO Bjørn Christian Nørbech spoke about this exciting news:

Aiming for greatness

Riiber and Northug are at different points in their careers, but both saw myOnvent as a great growth opportunity.

Northug is one of the most highly decorated cross country athletes of all time. He retired in 2018 having won 13 World Championship golds, two Olympic golds as well as two cross country world cups.

“I strive for greatness in everything I do. It doesn’t matter if it’s skiing or as an investor, I want to win. I have great faith in the myOnvent team’s ability to realize our ambitions of becoming a global market leader in the online and hybrid events and community industry” said Northug.

“Fantastic opportunity”

Jarl Magnus Riiber is one of the brightest stars on the Nordic Combined circuit. He has been dominating the competition for several years. The young athlete still has plenty left in the tank, and when the opportunity to invest in myOnvent came along, he did not hesitate.

“This was a fantastic opportunity. While my main focus is Nordic Combined, I am also starting to explore other interests. I have to start thinking about what I want to do when I retire. myOnvent is building a platform for the future, and I’m excited to see what the team is able to accomplish” said Riiber.

Well positioned to grow

The two stars joined myOnvent in 2021, along with other friends and family that were given a chance to invest. Now, our CEO Bjørn Christian Nørbech is working on the next round of funding to facilitate further growth in the company.

“We’ve built an incredible foundation for our future growth by investing in our platform and people. We aim to gain market share by supporting high end clients in solving complex challenges. A great example is the AI for Good neural network platform, which we’ve built for the UN’s International Telecommunications Union” said Nørbech.
